The Tel Avivian summer is so hot, sometimes even going outside is enough to make you mad, so there's nothing better than going swimming in the frozen water (and it’s really frozen) of the Gordon Pool. The mythological pool has been recently renovated but its water still comes from the sea, which guarantees cold and clean water. On summer months, the pool is packed with people, especially during the weekend, but if you get there in the middle of the week and grab one of the sunbeds further than the water, you’re in for a perfect vacation experience. I suggest you get to the Gordon Pool for a whole day, also because it's pricy to get in there but also to enjoy the ultimate vacation. Bring along a good book, newspapers, a towel and of course, some sunscreen, grab a sunbed and don't move all day, apart from the occasional jump into the water to cool you down, and freeze you. For swimmers, there's a professional pool, but be careful not to irritate the older swimmers, who are very strict when it comes to their swimming track. If you get hungry, buy a cheese toast at the cafeteria and a cold beer (yeah, it’s super expensive, but that's what you do in the summer) or iced coffee in the Lendver cafeteria, and enjoy yourselves. During August, the pool is filled with tanned French tourists, so if you're sensitive about the noise, you might wanna aim your visit to the early morning hours.
