The Zuiderbad is an indoor swimming pool in Amsterdam-Zuid, behind the Rijksmuseum. The Zuiderbad is since 1996 protected as a national monument.
The building was built in 1897 as an "Rijwielschool " or a bicycle school and was for that time a very modern building. It was the largest indoor bicycle school in the Netherlands.
In 1912 that the building was reopened as Zuiderbad - swimming pool. Furnished with modernities such as central heating and electric light so that it was possible to swim in the winter and when it was dark.
In 1999 a later a large-scale renovation took place. Today the Het Zuiderbad is public swimming pool.
