As a far north sider, one of my favorite events in the summer is the Artists of the Wall Festival held yearly at Loyola Beach Park. Though the festival is only a weekend long, the art remains for an entire year as residents reserve spots to paint sections of the bench that lines a path along the beach. Each section is different and represents Rogers Park residents' feelings, histories, and hopes for the future. Chill and take a seat while the Lake mesmerizes you into that deep dish coma. Then walk out to the end of the pier for a stellar skyline view, especially at night!
