• When the sun comes out Chicago, there are things that NEED to be done. Going to the beach is one of them. On any sunny day, there could be between 3 and 47 subsequent cloudy days, so make the most of a good day while you can. Oak Street and North Avenue beaches are same, same but different. Both have great views. Both have the ability to drink nearby. But North Avenue has Castaways and Oak Street does not. If you're trying to party on the beach, go to Castaways at North Ave. If you're a beach purist like myself, enjoy the simplicity of Oak Street.
