The old joke says that all Jewish holidays are based on the sentence “they tried to kill us, they failed - let's eat.” Purim (usually occurring sometime in March, but based on the Jewish calendar) takes it to the next level. It goes more like: “they tried to kill us, they failed - let’s party for a week wearing sexy police uniforms”. Purim started as a one-day holiday but today it already consists of a whole week of parties, dressing up, drinking and more drinking. Don’t be lazy - dress up and look for a good party. There are plenty of those in the city. How do you find a good party? Search for someone who’s well dressed-up and ask where they’re headed. If you’re too shy then just follow them, they’ll most likely lead you to some loft in South Tel Aviv.
