Tel Avivians tend to think they are above the White Night celebration and thus stay at home in protest. That is because on this night, Israelis from the surrounding periphery come to enjoy our wonderful city, and Tel Avivians are snobby people who find it difficult to watch others enjoying their city without paying the high rent price. In fact it is a nice and accessible night, with many free cultural events and families from all around the country who come and have a good time, so I don’t see what’s so bad about it. If you happen to be visiting on this particular day in June, make the best of it. Check the Tel Aviv municipality website for White Night events. The schedule is slightly different each year but there’s almost always a night concert that ends at sunrise, somewhere along the beach. It’s worth your while.
