The British Library is a remarkable place - it might not be the most beautiful of London's cultural landmarks, but it packs a mighty punch. Their permanent collection is free and contains some INCREDIBLE things - Lewis Carroll's first folio of Alice's Adventures Underground, Dickens's works and Jane Austen's letters to name a few. Their special exhibitions on everything from cartography to Harry Potter (coming this autumn) are always amazing, and I love wandering around the British Museum shop too. Go in and be inspired by our little island's larger than life literary history.
